Two-day summit aims to bring together a diverse group of residents, newcomers, business owners, elected officials, educators, law enforcement, community leaders, economic developers, environmental advocates and others from Region 5 and surrounding counties. Alongside fellow community members, attendees will learn and share ideas and create next steps for a more inclusive, equitable, just region for all who live here and for all who are yet to come. Please join us, your friends, colleagues, and community members for a special event, hosted by Second Harvest North Central Food Bank on September 21, 2022, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Walker Area Community Center. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. Together, we will learn more about how hunger affects many people in our community, the amazing people who work together to address our community’s food needs, and how you can get more involved. And we'll have fun!
Lunch will be provided. Second Harvest North Central will provide box lunches and beverages, available for people to take with them at the close of the event.
Groups will gather in the Driftless or Pine River for one hour and then join on Zoom to share insights across geography! For the first quarter, the topic is consumerism and consumption. For the October meeting two books, two videos, and some podcasts will be shared–participants are encouraged to read/watch/listen to at least one of the titles before the meeting.
